“MAXCOM MNUSU Inter Faculty Volleyball Tournament 2018” organized by MNUSU starts on Thursday night (22^nd February 2018), 08:30 pm at Faculty of Education PE Hall. An opening ceremony was held before the first match, at PE Hall, which was honored by Mr. Ahmed Adheel, the general secretary of Volleyball Association of Maldives. Deputy Vice Chancellor, Ms. Aishath Shaheen, Member of Parliament of Maafannu Dhekunu constituency Abdulla Rifau, FHS Dean, Ms. Aishath Shaheen Ismail, former Head of student support, Ms. Aishath Suad and FHS Lecturer Mr. Mohamed Zaid participated in the ceremony.

Chief Guest Mr. Ahmed Adheel , Deputy Vice Chancellor Ms. Aishath Shaheen, MP Rifau, President of MNUSU Arushad Ashraf and Vice President (Activity) Hassan Shah addressed the gathering (participating teams).

Two matches were played Thursday night, the first being the match of Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) and Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Studies (FHTS) of Men’s Division. The competitive match ended with FHTS taking all 2 points after winning 2 sets to nil (25 – 17, 29 – 27).

The second match of the tournament and the first match of the women’s division was played next with Business School (BS) going head to head with Faculty of Law and Islamic Studies (FLIS). The breathtaking match ended with MNUBS winning the match with the sets ending at 25 – 18 and 25 – 13 respectively.

Matches of the tournament will also be played on Friday morning and evening. Two matches of women’s division will be played in the morning; Faculty of Education (FE) taking on School of Nursing (SN) and Faculty of Law and Islamic Studies (FLIS) locking heads on Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS).
