The 6^th executive committee of the Maldives National University Students’ Union (MNUSU) has been inaugurated by the civil service commissioner, Dr. Ali Shameem.

An event was held on the night of 5^th November at the auditorium of the Faculty of Education, to which Member of Parliament (MP) Ali Rifau (of Maafannu Dhekunu Constituency), Vice Chancellor of MNU, Dr. Ali Fawaz Shareef, Deputy Vice Chancellors Dr. Muaviyath Mohamed and Ms. Aishath Shaheen, and Dean of Students, Ms. Nadhiya Ahmed attended.

During the ceremony

Certificate of Appreciation was handed over to the people who helped and assisted the MNUSU during the 5^th term. The Most Active Wing award was won by “HEALERS”, the wing of MNUSU at Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS). An annual report of the 5^th term in the form of a video was also shown in this ceremony. Furthermore, video interviews of MNU Senior Management Staffs were also presented.

Vice Chancellor Dr. Ali Fawaz Shareef commended on the achievements of MNUSU during the 5^th term and stated that he expects the same from the new executive committee of the new term, in his speech. President of MNUSU in 5^th term, Mr. Ali Rasheed Ahmed expressed his gratitude on his fellow executive committee members for the past two years and requested on the new executive committee to carry on the successes of MNUSU. The new President of the 6^th term of MNUSU, Mr. Arushad Ashraf highlighted on the targets of his new executive committee and stated that MNUSU will carry on from where the 5^th term left instead of starting from a new beginning; which indeed will slow down the development rate of the Union.

6. Secretary – Anaa Ahmed
7. Assistant Secretary – Hawwa Nausha
8. Media Coordinator – Mohamed Shaan Amir

The chief guest of the ceremony, President of Civil Service Commission of the Maldives, Dr. Ali Shameem gave an inspirational speech in which he highlighted on the positives and negatives to which leaders must be aware of. Additionally, he suggested the idea of MNUSU going International, which shall take MNUSU to a whole new level.
