All group stage matches of the MWSC MNUSU Futsal Fiesta 2019 has been played and hence the teams that will be playing in the quarter finals have been confirmed.

The first match was played between AVID college and MAPS college from group C. The champions of the futsal fiesta 2018, MAPS college lost with a score of 3-7 against AVID college. The man of match was Hussain Saweel (J12) from AVID college who scored a total of 5 goals for his team.

The last match of the group stage was played between VILLA college and FLIS. VILLA college won this round with a score of 1-0, the man of the match was the one who scored for his team, Minhaj Adam (J14) from VILLA college.

With the results of the group C matches, AVID College and VILLA college secures a spot in the quarter finals. Therefore, AVID college from group C is leading the point table with 9 points and last year’s champions, MAPS college is leading the score table with 6 points.

MAPS are to face off against Cyryx College of group A in the quarter finals while AVID college will be playing against MI college from group A.

The quarter final matches will be played on 20^th September at 20:00.

MNUSU Futsal Fiesta is the biggest sport event of Maldivian higher education sector. This tournament is organized by Maldives National University Students’ Union (MNUSU). This is the 7^th edition of MNUSU Futsal Fiesta. The first ever edition was held in 2013 and from then on, the tournament was held, without a break, each year. Last year’s edition introduced women’s trophy of the tournament, where Clique College claimed the first ever women’s trophy of the tournament. MAPS College took the men’s deviant after defeating Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Studies who ended up as the runner- up for the second running year.

Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) is the main and title sponsor of MWSC MNUSU Futsal Fiesta 2019. Printing partner of the tournament is M7. The tournament is further supported by Youth Sports and Community Empowerment, Dhiraagu and Visit Laamu while PSM Sports is the official media partner of the tournament.
