Faculty of Engineering, Science and Technology (FEST) of group B defeated last two year’s runners-up Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Studies (FHTS), 4 goals to 1, on Saturday night in the Men’s division of MWSC MNUSU Futsal Fiesta 2019. The man of the match was Adam Hafiz (J4) from FEST. The chief guest of this match was the former president of the HEALERS wing, Ahmed Atheef Adam.

The vice president, Hassan Shah of MNUSU was the chief guest of the group A match of Men’s division played by CFS and FA. CFS beat FA by a score of 7-2! The man of the match was Aiman Rasheed (J4) who scored 3 goals for CFS.

Last year’s Men’s champions, MAPS college locked horns with FLIS in group C of Men’s division where MAPS defeated FLIS 6 goals to 4. The former vice president of MNUSU (academic), Shaafiu Ahmed was the chief guest of this match. The man of the match was Afrah Mohamed (J10) from MAPS college, who scored 3 goals.

AVID College and MAPS College from Men’s division are now through to the quarter finals of the division, while the other 6 teams will be found out after next Thursday’s matches.

MNUSU Futsal Fiesta is the biggest sport event of Maldivian higher education sector. This tournament is organized by Maldives National University Students’ Union (MNUSU). This is the 7^th edition of MNUSU Futsal Fiesta. The first ever edition was held in 2013 and from then on, the tournament was held, without a break, each year. Last year’s edition introduced women’s trophy of the tournament, where Clique College claimed the first ever women’s trophy of the tournament. MAPS College took the men’s deviant after defeating Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Studies who ended up as the runner- up for the second running year.

Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) is the main and title sponsor of MWSC MNUSU Futsal Fiesta 2019. Printing partner of the tournament is M7. The tournament is further supported by Youth Sports and Community Empowerment, Dhiraagu and Visit Laamu while PSM Sports is the official media partner of the tournament.
