Executive committee members of MNUSU wings of Male’ campus of 2018 have been inaugurated. An event held on 16^th February 2018 commemorated the wings while many other happenings went under way in this ceremony. The ceremony was honored by the Principal of Qiyaasudhdheen International School and MNU Faculty of Education Advisory Board member Mr. Thoha Saleeem. Chancellor of MNU Dr. Mohamed Latheef, Vice Chancellor Dr. Ali Fawaz Shareef, Deputy Vice Chancellor Mr. Muaviyath Mohamed, Dean of students Ms. Nadhiya Ahmed and MP of Maafannu constituency Rifau Abdulla joined this ceremony.

During the ceremony

Nine wings of MNUSU belonging to the Male’ campus of MNU were inaugurated on thic ceremony held on Friday. This consist of the wing created for the new faculties; Faculty of Engineering, Science and Technology (FEST), which was the faculty made after merging Faculty of Engineering Technology and Faculty of Science, Faculty of Law and Islamic Studies (FLIS), which was the faculty made after merging Faculty of Sharia and Law and Faculty of Islamic Studies, and School of Nursing (SN). The other 6 wings were previous wings of MNUSU; Faculty of Education Student Association (FESA), Business School Student Association (BSSA), Sia, Healers, Society of Hospitality and Tourism Studies (SHATS) and Tharaha.

Certificate of Appointment to the secretaries of the wings were handed over by MP Rifau while Mr. Mohamed Musthafa Hussain, former director of students of MNU, handed over the certificates of Media Coordinators. Deputy Vice Chancellor of MNU, Dr. Muaviyath Mohamed handed over the certificates of Treasurers while Vice Chancellor Dr. Ali Fawaz Shareef and Chancellor Dr. Mohamed Latheef handed over the certificates to Vice Presidents (Activity) and Vice Presidents (Academic) respectively. Chief guest of the evening Mr. Thoha Saleem handed over the certificates to the Presidents of the MNUSU wings of Male’ campus.

During the ceremony

Apart from this, the new website, t-shirt design and YouTube channel of MNUSU were inaugurated by the chancellor of MNU Dr. Mohamed Latheef. The Advisory board of MNUSU was established in the ceremony and an award called “MNUSU Sharafverikamaai Izzaiytheri kamuge Nishaan” (roughly translated as life time achievement award) was introduced that evening.

The main event of the ceremony was the unveiling of an award in remembrance of late “Ahmed Mohamed” from Hithahfinivaage/HDh. Nolhivaram who was a beloved student of MNU, Faculty of Science. In addition to this, the chief guest was presented with a shield of Honor by MNUSU.

The ceremony included different speeches, mostly congratulating the newly elected wings members, delivered by MNUSU Vice president (Wings), Ali Shamoon, MNUSU President Arushad Ashraf, MNU vice chancellor Dr. Ali Fawaz Shareef and the Chief guest, Thoha Saleem.

With the inauguration of wings executive committees from MNU Male’ Campus, MNUSU’s target is to do the same and initiate different wings for the campuses across the nation in the near future.
