“Dhiraagu MNUSU Futsal Fiesta 2018” continued on Friday morning at 06:45 am with teams from women’s division. MNUBS and MI College played against each other resulting a score of 3 – 1 with MNUBS as the winner. “Queen of the Match” was awarded to MNUBS player (no. 5) Lamha for her incredible performance.

Another match was played at this time where Clique College and Avid College went head to head and end with a amazing 8 goal to none win for Clique College . “Queen of the Match” was awarded to player (no. 6) Farah Ahmed of Clique College who scored 5 goals shone throughout the match.

Matches involving teams from the men’s division started at 07:30 am. FLIS and Avid College played against each other ending with a score of 2 – 3  with Avid College as the winner. “Man of the Match” was awarded to FLIS player (no. 7) Abdulla Jailam for showing an impressive play.

Clique College and MI College played against each other , till the referee blew the final whistle finalizing MI college a win of 3-0. “Man of the Match” was awarded to player (no. 10) Akmal Mohamed from MI College for his amazing display during the match.

After taking a break, matches were again started later that day at 09:30 pm. The matches were honoured by the chief guest, Minister of Youth and Sports Iruthisham Adam along with special guests Parliament Member of Maafannu South Constituency Abdulla Rifau, Chairman of Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) Ali Rifau, Chancellor of MNU Dr. Mohamed Latheef, Dean of Students of MNU Ms. Nadhiya Ahmed including rectors and heads of other colleges and faculties.

The first match was between School of Nursing (SN) and FHTS from women’s division which ended in a draw of 0-0. Player (no. 12) Mariyam Maya from FHTS was awarded “Queen of the Match”  for her dedicated effort.

Another match took place at this time. CFS and Cyryx College from men’s division played their match and ended  it with a score of 0 – 4 with Cyryx College as the winner. Player (no. 4) Ali Ifuradh from Cyryx College was awarded “Man of the Match” rewarding for his performance that night.

MNUBS and Maldives Business School played against each other at 10:30 pm ending with a draw of 3 – 3. The talented player (no. 3) Hassan Zahid from MNUBS was awarded “Man of the Match.”

FHTS and Villa College played the last match of the night which came to end an end with a score of 2 – 3 with Villa College as the winner. Taking his team ahead, player (no. 3) Ibrahim Nadaad from Villa College was awarded “Man of the Match.”

MNUSU Futsal Fiesta is a tournament organized by Maldives National University Students’ Union (MNUSU). This tournament is the biggest futsal tournament being held for the “higher education” sector of Maldives. This is the 6^th edition of this tournament, which was held for the past 5 years. This year’s edition will start on 02^nd August 2018 and will end on 18^th. All matches of the tournament will be played at the grounds at Ekuveni Sports Complex, in front of Traffic Police, Ameenee Magu, Male’.

The title of this year’s edition of the tournament, which has been held every year after the founding of MNUSU, is sponsored by Dhiraagu.
