The Maldives National University Students Union has been involved in conducting a lecture session among students from GN. Atoll Education Centre. These sessions were held at the center with students from grade 9, 10, 11 and 12. The total amount of participants add up to a total of 100 or more with the students being prefects of the school and leaders of different clubs of school. With the President of MNUSU, Arushad Ashraf as the main speaker of the session, assistance to facilitate the sessions were provided by Mohamed Nabeeh, President of Youth Leaders Network (YLN) Farhan Mohamed, and different members of MNUSU, such as former president of MNUSU and the current student representative of MNU council, Ali Rasheed, and MNUSU advisory members Ali Ameer and Hussain Ali.

During the session

This Lecture session on “Leadership” took place on the morning of 11^th March 2018 from 11 am to 01:00 pm. During the session, students were told that becoming a leader is not only about its title, but shouldering its responsibilities which comes with it. And it was advised that a leader’s responsibility includes him or her to help others to become a leader during their time as a leader, with their main accomplishment being able to create a group of people who could lead others. Furthermore, President Arushad, instructed the participants on how to organize activities involving students, and on how to get their cooperation for such events and activities.

During the session

This session was held in Fuvahmulah City during a visit to the city by MNUSU President Arushad, Former President and some advisory board members of MNUSU. This trip was an official trip of Ministry of Home Affairs and Youth Leaders Network (YLN) to the city to conduct a forum on “Jumhooriyyathaa Zuvaanun” roughly translated as youth and republic.
