The biggest futsal competition, that is the MWSC MNUSU futsal fiesta 2019 held among universities, colleges and high schools starts tonight.

The group stage matches were held tonight and the first 2 matches were among the women’s divisions teams. The first match was between FHTS and CYRYX college with CYRYX college winning by a score of 4-2. The Queen of the Match was Mariyam Wafa (J5) from CYRYX college who scored 3 goals for their team.

The second match of the women’s division was held between MAPS college and FHS. This match was finished with neither of the teams scoring a goal. The queen of the match was Ziyaadha Mohamed (J11) from FHS.

The first match of the men’s division was held among MI college and CFS with MI college leading the match with 6 goals and CFS scoring non. The man of the match was Gaasim Samaam (J5) from MI college.

The second match of the men’s division was held between POLYTECHNIC and FHTS. FHTS won the match with a score of 3-2. The man of the match was Ahmed Hunaif (J9) from FHTS.

MNUSU Futsal Fiesta is the biggest sports event of Maldivian higher education sector. This tournament is organized by Maldives National University Students’ Union (MNUSU). This is the 7^th edition of MNUSU futsal fiesta. The first ever edition was held in 2013 and from then on, the tournament was held, without a break, each year. Last year’s edition introduced women’s division into the tournament, where Clique College claimed the first ever women’s trophy of the tournament. MAPS College took the men’s division trophy after defeating Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Studies who ended up as runner ups for the second running year.

Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) is the main and title sponsor of MWSC MNUSU Futsal Fiesta 2019. Printing partner of the tournament is M7. The tournament is further supported by Ministry of Youth Sports and Community Empowerment, Dhiraagu and Visit Laamu while PSM Sports is the official media partner of the tournament.
