School of Nursing (SN) and Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) faced off in the group B of women’s division where SN got a narrow 1-0 win. Sheela Mohamed, Jersey no. 10 of SN, won the player of the match while SN secured 4 points and qualified to the quarters as the winner of the group. The second team to qualify from this group was MAPS College who had 2 points.

From group C of women’s division, MI and AVID College faced off where MI College thrashed AVID College 5 goals to nil. Aminath Shamila, Jersey no. 6, of MI College won the best player of this match. MI College, with 6 points, qualified to quarter finals as the winner of this group while the second team to qualify from this group was MNU Business School.

Villa College won the match against FA with a score of 5-1 from group D of women’s division. Aishath Eman, jersey no. 7, of Villa college was the player of the match while Villa college qualified to the quarters with 6 points as the winner of the group. The second team to qualify from the group was Faculty of Education, with 3 points.

Group A matches of women’s division ended last week, where Cyryx College won the group and FLIS was the runners-up.

One match from group D of Men’s division was also played on Thursday evening. Faculty of Health Sciences defeated Maldives Business School 4 goals to nil which sees them qualify into the quarters and knocked MBS out of the tournament. MNU Business School qualified into the quarters as the winner of the group.

MNUSU Futsal Fiesta is the biggest sport event of Maldivian higher education sector. This tournament is organized by Maldives National University Students’ Union (MNUSU). This is the 7^th edition of MNUSU Futsal Fiesta. The first ever edition was held in 2013 and from then on, the tournament was held, without a break, each year. Last year’s edition introduced women’s trophy of the tournament, where Clique College claimed the first ever women’s trophy of the tournament. MAPS College took the men’s deviant after defeating Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Studies who ended up as the runner- up for the second running year.

Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) is the main and title sponsor of MWSC MNUSU Futsal Fiesta 2019. Printing partner of the tournament is M7. The tournament is further supported by Youth Sports and Community Empowerment, Dhiraagu and Visit Laamu while PSM Sports is the official media partner of the tournament.
